Tax Collector

Croydon gets bi-annual tax bills.

The warrant for the first bill is given to the tax collector from the Select Board in May, and bills are mailed by early June with a due date set by the tax collector in July.

The warrant for the second bill is given by the Select Board to the tax collector in October and mailed by early November, with a due date set by the tax collector for December.

 

Tax Exemptions

For tax exemptions, please refer to the following forms:

  • PA-29 This is the Permanent Application for Property Tax Credits/Exemptions. This form must be filled out for anyone seeking elderly or veteran's tax credits/exemptions.
  • Elderly Credit Worksheet This form must also be filled out by anyone seeking an elderly credit/exemption. The requirements are as follows:
  1. Applicant must be 65 years old as of April 1st of the tax year applying.  (In married couples, the eldest should apply)
  2. Applicant must have resided in the state of New Hampshire for at least three years prior to the year of application.
  3. Applicant must own real estate individually, own jointly or in common with another, or be married to an individual for at least five years who owns real estate within the community.
  4. Property must meet the definition of residential real estate, per RSA 79:39-a(‘c), which includes the housing unit, which is the person’s principal home and related structure. It does not include attached dwelling units and unattached structures used or intended for commercial or other non-residential purposes.
  5. Property cannot have been transferred to the applicant, from a person under the age of 65, and related to the applicant by blood or marriage, within the past five years.

Accessing Tax Map & Parcel Information

Croydon utilizes Avitar Associates for assessing purposes. If you are looking to find information about a specific parcel you can access their free online tool here.

  • After loading the page select "GUEST" as your log-in method.
  • Enter the CAPTCHA Challenge Phrase that is on the screen and click "LOGIN".
  • From the list of towns, scroll down and select "CROYDON".
  • This will bring you to the Parcel Information Screen where you can query the live data by either Parcel ID, Owner Name, Address, or through Basic and Sales Searches.

Utilizing Tax Maps 

Croydon has a total of 20 Tax Maps. They are numbered A, B and 1-18. Maps A & B refer to specific 'high density' areas, the East Village & Croydon Flat and Rockybound Pond, respectively. By using the "INDEX Map" you can locate the actual Tax Map that holds your property's data.

Once you have found the correct map, zoom in using a .pdf viewer, like Adobe Acrobat, to see more information about the parcel.
